Farewell to the Tenth Rotation in Győr
Szöveg: Tibor Tamás | 2011. december 20. 13:28The farewell ceremony for the 10th troop rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR-10 HUNCON) took place in Győr on Thursday, December 15. Maj.-Gen. László Domján, the Commander of the HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) greeted the troops to deploy with the mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In what followed, the EUFOR-10 HUNCON led by Lt.-Col. Tamás Papp was blessed by Maj. Gergely Hankóczi, the Reformed field chaplain of the contingent.
Maj.-Gen. László Domján greeted the lined-up troops at the ceremony which was attended among others by Balázs Róbert Simon, the vice-mayor of Győr, Dr. Enikő Háncs, the governmental representative cabinet chief of the Government Office of Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Lt.-Col. Emil Oláh, a designated Reformed field chaplain and Col. (Eng.) József Nyers, the commander of the Szentes regiment. The HDF JFC Commander stressed that the mission in Bosnia-Herzegovia a priority for Hungary, because maintaining stability in the Balkans is in our fundamental national interest. He added that apart from the contingent, a number of Hungarian soldiers are posted to serve at the EUFOR HQ as well.
“You form one team. You have one mission that you should accomplish as one", told them Gen. Domján, and went on saying “Never forget that your loved ones are waiting for each of you. They bear a great burden too, as a solid and loving home front is a priority for any soldier in this situation."
After the ceremonial speech Maj. Gergely Hankóczi, the Reformed field chaplain of the contingent blessed the personnel.
