Five Kilometers, Twelve Tasks

The Hungarian soldiers serving in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan participated in a special competition on 3rd October.

They had to cover a five-kilometer distance while completing 12 tasks, namely Monkey Bars, The Wall (climbing), Climbing Dead (to a tower), Big Crawl (in a 30-meter tube), Dark Room (with negotiating obstacles inside), Crossbeam (to walk on across a bed), Spider Time (climbing), Wriggle Track (with a tire), Slippy Hill (a watery hill to be negotiated), Car Climb (climbing on a wreck), Wheel Ladder and Tarzan (swinging across a ditch with a rope).

In addition to the physical challenge, the soldiers also had to take the test of camaraderie and cooperative skills during the competition, because its successful completion required that both members of the teams cross the finish line after carrying out each task.

All Hungarian teams successfully finished the competition and accomplished every task.
