Szöveg: Ministry of Defence | 2017. december 8. 10:00Since 1 December, Lt.-Gen. Dr. Zoltán Orosz has been performing his duties as Head of the Office of the Hungarian Military Representative to NATO. In this new position, he received Chief of Defence General Dr. Tibor Benkő at a staff meeting held on 4 December.
At the staff meeting held in Brussels, General Dr. Tibor Benkő talked about the changes that had taken place in the Hungarian Defence Forces in 2017, among others the HDF Pápa Air Base becoming an organization with regimental legal status and the establishment of the HDF 2nd vitéz Árpád Bertalan Special Operations Group.
He pointed out that, thanks to the Zrínyi 2026 National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program, the gradual increase of resources allocated to defence at a sustainable rate is an unparalleled historic opportunity, which will at once enhance conformity with NATO requirements and Hungary’s international prestige. In the framework of the program, a number of significant development projects and procurements are to be launched in the near future.
