General Shirreff Expresses Satisfaction with EUFOR Exercise Results
Szöveg: Capt. Tamás Brunner | 2012. február 21. 9:39Gen. Sir Richard Shirreff, the Operation Commander of EUFOR ALTHEA paid a visit to HQ EUFOR in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo between February 13 and 15. EUFOR Commander Maj.-Gen. Robert Brieger received the general with military honors.
On 14th February Maj.-Gen. Robert Brieger and Chief of Staff EUFOR Brig.-Gen. Zoltán Gulyás directed the Full Operational Capability (FOC) Evaluation Exercise “Operation Glasshouse" of the EUFOR mission, which the Operation Commander of ALTHEA assessed as satisfactory. Also present at the exercise were Peter Sørensen, the EU Special Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina, Col. Miroslaw Tuliszka, the Chief of the EU Staff Group, Mons and Col. Tibor Rózsa, the Chief of Staff of the NATO HQ Sarajevo.
Gen. Sir Richard Shirreff is the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SHAPE/DSACEUR). In his capacity as Operation Commander EUFOR, he is in charge of directing Operation ALTHEA on the strategic level in the Balkans. In the latter position, he receives direct support for his work from the EU Staff Group.
