Hungary was represented by HDF Command Sergeant Major (CSM) István Kriston, the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) of the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF). The senior enlisted leaders discussed among others the topical matters concerning the Alliance. They pursued discussions about the organisational changes affecting NATO, and the status of the NCO Corps of the Member States, as well as the issues of the application of NATO NCO Strategy published in 2017.

The event was graced by the visit of Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) General Denis Mercier. In his speech the General highlighted that the NATO leadership relies on the support of the NCO Corps of the Member States in meeting the challenges ahead of the Alliance. The General said that the Alliance faces complex challenges, and they can only be overcome with well-prepared, loyal and committed NCOs.

General Mercier also acknowledged the performance of the NCO Corps of the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF). A key element of this acknowledgement was that as from September 2018, Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Tibor Bogdán will take the responsibilities of the position of the NATO Allied Command Transformation Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
