Conference of European Armies

The conference of the commanders of the European armies was held in the organisation of the US Army Europe (USAREUR) between 17 and 19 October in Wiesbaden, Germany. Hungary was represented by Brigadier General Zsolt Sándor, Land Forces Chief of the HDF Joint Force Command, Deputy Commander.

The conference was attended by General Mark Alexander Milley, the Chief of Staff of the US Army, and Lieutenant General Christopher G. Cavoli, the Commander of the USAREUR, who was also the host of the event.

The participants reviewed the current issues in the co-operation of armies, and the possibilities for expanding co-operation between the individual national armed forces. The goal of the conference established in 1988 is to enable the commanders of armies to discuss the timely tasks of the regional and global security, and to share their experiences in the area of operations and training.

The conference provided an opportunity for bilateral consultations about armies, beyond the joint professional and cultural programs.
