Lieutenant General Dr. Gábor Böröndi Held Talks in the American Capital
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2018. október 22. 8:42The Deputy Chief of the Honvéd General Staff Lieutenant General Dr. Gábor Böröndi paid a visit to the National Defense University (NDU), Washington D.C., 15th October.
Lieutenant Böröndi was received by the leadership of the university and Vice Admiral Fritz Roegge, the President. The apropos of the visit was that Colonel Norbert Tajti, the Chief of the Special Operations Directorate of the HDF Joint Forces Command, pursues International Security Studies in the institution in the 2018/2019 semesters.
One of the central themes of the discussions with the Vice Admiral was the transformation of the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF), and emphasising the fact, that the restructuring means not just a technical-organisational task, but the mentality has to gain a new perspective adjusting to the new challenges.
The parties agreed that the exchange of experiences of the allied, i.e. the American and the Hungarian partners is of vital importance. Vice Admiral Roegge offered the possibility of the further co-operation, which Lieutenant General Böröndi sees viable as a possibility of a long-term, successful project. The leadership of the university praised Colonel Tajti’s high-level professionalism and his initiative and active participation.
The visit was also attended by Colonel János Hess, the Defence Attaché of the Hungarian Defence Forces accredited to Washington.
