The Hungarian and Spanish Contingents deployed in the Baltic Air Policing (BAP) mission honoured the Lithuanian Armed Forces and Public Unity Day with a joint parade flight. The ”finger-four” formation of the Hungarian JAS-39 Gripen and the Spanish F-18 fighters were performing a fly-by over the scene of the event.

The event organised in the town of Tauragé, located in the Western part of Lithuania, is a joint commemoration of the glorious deeds of all those heroes, who fought for the independence and freedom of Lithuania. Moreover, a further objective is to introduce the current defenders of the country.

In the parade the full spectrum of the Lithuanian military forces and military technology is demonstrated. Colourful military programs, static and dynamic displays can be viewed both on the land and in the air. The event attracting significant crowds is intended to strengthen the civil-military co-operation, and also to emphasise the importance and social significance of national defence.
