“The security of the Western Balkans comes first in the order of mission priorities for Hungary. The people living there have experienced the strength of EUFOR and the presence of NATO", Brig.-Gen. Gábor Böröndi said, adding that “The most important mission of the European Union, including Hungary, is to guarantee security for the people living there. We cannot forget the Balkans, even if it may seem a less considerable military challenge than Afghanistan or any other mission at the moment. Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo deserve special attention with regard to Hungary’s security."
