Hungarian Chief of Defence Holds Talks in Croatia

In the interest of maintaining and fostering Hungarian–Croatian military-to-military relations, Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő paid a one-day visit to Zlatna Greda, Croatia on March 26. The Chief of the Defence Staff was welcomed by Lt.-Gen. Drago Lovric, the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian armed forces.

At the border meeting the two partners discussed those fields where cooperation is already
going on between the two nations’ soldiers and the scope for its further expansion.

During the discussions they surveyed the system of military education, training and exercises,
the sharing of radar data between the two countries and the opportunity of cooperation
between the Hungarian and the Croatian Special Forces.

Further topics on the agenda of the meeting included the opportunities of joining the missions
of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps (NRDC), the mutual training of search and rescue
(SAR) services as well as their possible joint exercises and task execution.
