Brig.-Gen. (MD) Dr. Ralf Hoffmann, the commandant of the Ulm Military Hospital and Prof. Dr. Horst Peter Becker, the chief physician of the institution arrived in Budapest on 6 June for a two-day visit. The German delegation concluded a long-term agreement of cooperation with the leaders of the Hungarian hospital at the HDF Medical Centre.

The partnership between Hungarian and German military doctors is not new, as they have already been co-deployed on foreign missions (for example, in Afghanistan), and the HDF Medical Centre has long been maintaining good relations with the leadership and experts of German military hospitals.

The presently concluded agreement of cooperation –signed by Hungarian Maj.-Gen. István Szabó, Commandant, HDF Medical Center and by Brig.-Gen. Dr. Ralf Hoffmann on behalf of the partner institution – lays the main emphasis on training events, exercises and courses, with special regard to emergency and trauma care as a prioritized segment in the field of military medicine.

During the two-day visit, the guests attended professional lectures and gained personal experience of the ongoing work in the HDF Medical Centre. The cooperation project is expected to start in practice in the autumn.

The HDF Medical Centre continues to seek opportunities for expanding its system of cooperative relations with foreign military hospitals.
