Hungarian Major General Receives Polish Defence Ministerial Decoration

Acting on behalf of the Polish national minister of defence during a ceremony in Brussels, Lt.-Gen. Andrzej Falkowski, the Polish military representative to the NATO Military Committee presented the Gold Grade of the Polish Army Medal (Medal Wojska Polskiego) to Maj.-Gen. László Domján, Head of the HDF Office of the Military Representative; to Military Representative of Slovakia Maj.-Gen. Miroslav Kocian; and to Military Representative of the Czech Republic Maj.-Gen. Miroslav Zizka.

In his speech, Lt.-Gen. Falkowski pointed out that with this decoration, the Polish national minister of defence wishes to express his recognition for the personal efforts made in strengthening cooperation and relations among the armed forces of the V4 countries, for the collective role in the EU Battle Group and for the contribution to the Enhanced Forward Presence on NATO’s eastern flank.

After the reception of the medal, Maj.-Gen. László Domján expressed thanks for the decoration, assured his Polish colleague that he will continue to lay great emphasis on strengthening cooperation, and emphasized that this recognition has been merited not only by his own work but also that of the staff at the office of the military representative.

Some days earlier the Czech Chief of Defence decorated Maj.-Gen. Domján with the third grade of the medal of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic.
