After finishing their daily work, the peacekeepers serving Camp Butmir, Sarajevo regularly visit a well-equipped gym and exercise hall in the afternoon and evening hours. Beyond individual opportunities, of course the interested soldiers of the mission can participate in joint workouts as well.

Two Hungarian soldiers from the 17th rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR-17 HUNCON) – both of them are well-prepared sport enthusiasts – were leading such weekly sports events for their comrades on a voluntary basis. Cpl. Katalin Arany’s aerobic workouts were very popular in the last six months, as evidenced by the high number of attendees on two occasions per week. In recognition of this voluntary work, Brig.-Gen. Giselle Wilz, the commander of the NATO HQ Sarajevo recently awarded and thanked her for her efforts in the presence of the regular visitors of aerobic workouts.

Similarly popular were SSgt. Dénes Tibor Udvardi’s TRX suspension workouts, where the persevering participants could make significant progress in improving their physical fitness.
