Lieutenant Colonel Rickhard Nordfjäll Appointed as the Commander of the Logistics Support Squadron
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2016. július 9. 4:06Lieutenant Colonel Rickhard Nordfjäll of the Royal Swedish Air Force has been appointed as the Commander of the Logistics Support Squadron (LSS) of the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW), the operational unit of the 12-nation Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC). The official change of command ceremony took place on 7 July at Pápa Air Base.
Lieutenant Colonel Nordfjäll assumed the command of the LSS from Lieutenant Colonel Kjell-Arne Nilsen of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. After four years of service as the Commander of the LSS, Lt Col Nilsen’s next assignment will be as Weapon Systems Manager for Multi-Engine Aircraft at the Norwegian Defence Forces Materiel Command.
Prior to his appointment as the Commander of the LSS, Lt Col Nordfjäll served as the Commander of the Training, Exercise & Evaluation Department of the Royal Swedish Air Force Air Warfare Centre. Since graduation as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer in 1990, he has held numerous positions in different aircraft maintenance units. In 2001, Lt Col Nordfjäll completed the Staff Officer course at the National Defence University in Stockholm.
As the Commander of the LSS, Lt Col Nordfjäll draws upon his extensive experience from multinational military cooperation. He has deployed three times to Bosnia & Herzegovina, serving at the NATO IFOR/SFOR and EUFOR ALTHEA operations.
In addition, he has served as the national lead for the Swedish contribution to NATO interoperability through CWID and CWIX programs.
