The Service Expo trade show was arranged for the first time in the area of the “Hungexpo”, in which the Ministry of Defence Electronics, Logistics and Property Management Private Company Limited by Shares also participated. On the stand of the company the visitors could see a Hungarian development, the ‘Ikran’ reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

Between November 9-11, the Ministry of Defence Electronics, Logistics and Property Management Private Company Limited by Shares (MoD ED Co.) was represented at the trade exhibition ‘Service Expo – Business Services’, held in the area of the Hungexpo. The MoD ED Co. has been present in the service sector for more than 15 years, yet the real activity of the company is less known to the wide public, although regarding the staff numbers it is a market leader in the field of security guard services and is a key player in the property management segment too.

At the exhibition all three key fields of service of the Company were introduced. Besides property management, the security guard duties and the IT services, the interested visitors could even get a glimpse into one of the prioritized research and development (R&D) projects of the Company.

MoD ED Co. displayed one of its latest developments, the Ikran reconnaissance UAV which came out in the spring. This UAV has a gross weight of 18 kilograms and a wingspan of 3.8 meters. Thanks to its small size and easy operation, it can be deployed across a wide spectrum tasks ranging from convoy escort tasks in missions abroad to the supervision of pipelines, so it can meet the aerial reconnaissance needs of the disaster relief and civil industrial companies in addition to those of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Dr. Zoltán Borbíró, the chairman of the board of directors of the MoD ED Co. told us: “With its appearance at the exhibition, the company limited by shares wanted to emphasize that it has high professional standards and can react rapidly to the defence requirements of the civil sector besides its scope of tasks given by the Ministry of Defence."
