Ministerial visit to Tata

Defence Minister Dr. Csaba Hende paid a visit on July 26 to the HDF 25th ‘György Klapka’ Infantry Brigade where he was received with military honours. Also present were Maj.Gen. Zoltán Orosz, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, MoD annd Maj.Gen. József Kovács, Commander, HDF Joint Forces Command.

Col. László Benda, the acting commander of the corps spoke about the historic background of the brigade, its organisational structure, function and duties in his report, also mentioning the problems they face and the tasks to be resolved.

Following the colonel’s report, the minister was shown around the military facility and later he delivered a speech at the meeting of the personnel. He emphasised the size and importance of the government’s task in renewing Hungarian home defence. He pointed out: they are committed to completing this process and hope that favourable changes can be felt soon in the Hungarian Defence Forces.

The defence minister underlined that they also count on the expertise and skills of the troops and employees of the Tata brigade. He spoke in detail about the career model, wages, and the clarification of personnel-related issues. After the meeting, the defence minister and his delegation were shown a tactical demonstration performed by select units of the brigade and familiarised themselves with the technical equipments of the Tata corps.
