On Snow-Capped Lands

On the way to the Salang Pass, in the town of Khinjan, the Mission Team members conducted talks with Fazil Rahim, the Governor of Khinjan District about the tasks and projects that have already been completed and are still underway. The Governor expressed his pleasure over the useful donations, due to which the performance of the daily tasks has become easier, more transparent, and he thanked the PRT for the assistance and investments they have received so far. The negotiation took place in the office, which has just recently been equipped with new desks, chairs and other office accessories, thanks to the activity of the Hungarian PRT. While leaving they inspected the hesco bastions protecting the building, the construction of which was one of the projects that have ended also in the recent past.

Bound for the Salang Pass, they made a stopover, where the soldiers inspected a surgery built in 2008 by the PRT. Afterwards, they continued their journey to the Pass, where they negotiated with Col. Ataollah, the Commander of the Guard Post about the timely roadway reconstructions, investments and aiding. Apart from this, the Hungarian soldiers handed over 60 pieces of winter-coats and 90 pieces of winter gloves to the guard personnel, as in the severe winter the layered clothing is a must, which is also proved by the snow 15-20 cm deep, covering the land.
