Portuguese Ambassador Visits Pristina

H.E. Madam Vera Maria Fernandes, the Ambassador of Portugal to Kosovo and Bulgaria paid a visit to Camp Slim Lines, Pristina. The high-ranking guest met Lt. Col. Miklós Tajti, the Commander of the HDF KFOR contingent, then got familiarised with the function and purpose, structure and timely tasks of the KFOR Tactical Reserve Manoeuvre Battalion (KFOR TACRES Battalion).

In the course of the program Madam Fernandes inspected the quarters of the service-members, and the sports and other MWR facilities built for spending leisure time in a useful and cultured way. Then Her Excellency participated in a Portuguese–Hungarian weapons and technical demonstration, in the framework of which the troops of the Hungarian company declared to KFOR demonstrated the standard and safe operation of a vehicle checkpoint (VCP).

The visit ended with the traditional Portuguese Chestnut Festival. In her speech closing the event Madam Ambassador highlighted the efforts made by the multinational battalion in the interest of stabilising peace in Kosovo.
