The relations between Hungary and the Republic of Poland are excellent; the two countries cultivate longstanding, warm and friendly relations, which provide a good basis for the deepening and further strengthening of the cooperation.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the defence cooperation between the Visegrád countries has received a new impetus in the recent period. In the last year’s V4 meeting the heads of government agreed that the security and defence policy cooperation should be tightened, first of all in the interest of forming a joint EU combat group. The Hungarian contribution comprises riflemen, engineer, logistical, water purification, medical staff, special operational forces (SOFs) and staff officers, among others.
After the Wednesday bilateral talks Dr. Csaba Hende and his Polish counterpart Tomasz Siemoniak signed the Secrecy Agreement on the Mutual Protection of Classified Information, the Ministry stated in its communiqué, stressing: “the signing of the recent agreement opens up new vistas in further deepening of the Polish-Hungarian relations".
