As always, the annual NATO Wife’s Charity Bazaar took place in Mid-November in Brussels, at the Headquarters of the Alliance. In the organisation of the Hungarian diplomatic and military community, our homeland did well again during the arrangement: the goulash and the cinnamon monkey bread representing the Hungarian cuisine brought down the house among the visitors.

NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Wershbow, Chairman of NATO‘s Military Committee General Knud Bartels, and Air Marshal Sir Christopher Harper, Director General of the International Military Staff (DGIMS) at NATO visited the national stands – according to the established traditions.

The wife of Hungary’s Ambassador to NATO Éva Dr. Sztárayné Dr. Kézdy and the HDF Military Representative Major General László Domján welcomed the guests arriving to the Hungarian stand. After the tasting, all of them expressed their appreciation for the excellent arrangement of the stand and the first-rate quality of the national dishes and beverages.

The proceeds of the charity event will be distributed by competition among the applicants. The judging of the applications will be held after the end of the bazaar. In the past years there was generally a winning Hungarian competitor as well, thanks to which they managed to get special devices and medical instruments for the children with disabilities and for their rehabilitation centre.
