For the personnel of the US Army 10th Special Forces Group (Colorado), the purposes of the three-week JCET are to develop and maintain individual skills, and standardize tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs). The specialization training events were followed up by a series of operations conducted in small units (operational detachments). As compared to last year’s training, a novelty of the JCET 2016 is the participation of a Black Hawk helicopter that is to play a key role in the culmination exercise (CULEX).

Concurrent with the JCET exercise, the fourth phase has officially started on the international Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC). The organizer of the SFQC is the HDF 2nd Special Forces Regiment. Having successfully completed the first three phases, the soldiers commence collective training activities together with SF personnel from the Polish, Slovak and Slovenian armed forces.

The 11-week fourth phase is aimed at enabling candidates (SF detachment commanders, assistant commander, Operations Sergeants and Weapons Sergeants to be posted to operational detachments in the near future) to acquire all the skills and competencies of their chosen military occupational specialty (MOS). By tradition, the SFQC instructors are highly professional officers and NCOs who have already attended SF courses in Hungary and the United States and have extensive mission-related experience.
