Think as a Team

„In fact our task is to provide training for the commanders of smaller sub-units. Those who have completed this training course, will be able to lead their subordinates more efficiently even under extreme circumstances. This type of course is generally useful for NCOs and officers just starting their career" – said Captain Lajos Lisznyai, the Deputy Head of the Debrecen Section of the Brigade’s Training Department. During the one-week period, only minimum time was spent with either eating or sleeping.
“The mentors – Staff Sergeant András Murvai (39th Infantry Battalion) and Lance Sergeant Kálmán Szabó (Garrison Support Command, Hódmezővásárhely), who had earlier finished the assault riflemen training course -, conducted twice a day stamina-developing courses. Besides these, a great emphasis was laid on the enlargement of the servicemen’s knowledge in the field of military topography and geography: both day and night they had to take part in the so called “star-tours", orientation marches. During the instruction one of the most important aspects was to learn how to work with community members, and to think and perform as a team, because they could not survive alone under extreme circumstances. We held them continuously under heavy physical and psychological pressure; which is proved by the fact that though 16 riflemen have begun the preparation course, only six of them could finish it. “
