Third Orbán Cabinet Formed

President of Hungary János Áder appointed the Ministers of Viktor Orbán’s third Cabinet on Friday, June 6 in Budapest. With this, the tenth new cabinet after the 1989 change of regime has been formed.

During the appointment ceremony which started at 9.00 a.m. in Sándor Palace, Head of State János Áder presented letters of credence to Zsolt Semjén, Minister without portfolio, Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér, Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balogh, Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas, Minister of Defence Csaba Hende, Minister of Justice László Trócsányi, Minister of Foreign and External Economic Affairs Tibor Navracsics, Minister of National Economy Mihály Varga, Minister of National Development Miklós Seszták and János Lázár, Minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The President of the Republic appointed as of Friday the Ministers of the new government in the presence of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and László Kövér, Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament.

Under the Fundamental Law of Hungary, “Ministers shall be appointed by the President of the Republic on the recommendation of the Prime Minister…The Government shall be formed by the appointment of Ministers".
