The first troops of the fifth rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-5 HUNCON) arrived by air to Priština on Wednesday, 10th of August. Lt. Col. Szabó Sándor, the Commander of the KFOR-4 HUNCON received the team on the concrete of the airport of Kosovo’s Capital. (See the two Contingent Commanders in our picture.) Upon arrival to Camp ‘Slim Lines’, the service-members of the rotation personnel got briefing about the area of operations (AO), and also participated in the mandatory labour-, environmental, and fire-protection instruction.

Lt. Col. Szabó told us: ‘The handover and takeover of tasks between the two contingents has already begun the very next day. This process will continue until 26th of August. The official so called Transfer of Authority (TOA) ceremony will be held then.

In the meantime – as a matter of fact – the new groups of the rotation personnel will keep arriving in the AO’ added the Commander of the KFOR-4 HUNCON, who also told us, that the contingent led by Lt. Col. Tajti Miklós will reach full operational readiness on 27th August, and it is from that time on that they will perform the duties assigned to them.
