Troop Rotation in the HDF EUFOR Contingent

According to plans, a troop rotation took place in the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR HUNCON) in Sarajevo during the first two weeks of January.

In addition to enabling the inventory control of material supplies and military vehicles, the handover-takeover period provided an opportunity to execute tasks assigned to various positions. At a ceremony, EUFOR-17 HUNCON commander Lt.-Col. Tibor Csaba, and Col. Tamás Fürst, the commander of the 18th rotation (EUFOR-18 HUNCON) signed the records of transfer certifying the accomplishment of the tasks.

At a parade held in the morning of the day of returning home, the two commanders announced the completion of the handover-takeover process in front of the entire personnel. During a subsequent ceremony, the colours of the HDF 37th “Ferenc Rákóczi II" Engineer Regiment – which contributed most of the personnel to the 17th rotation – were lowered and the colours of the HDF 64th “József Boconádi Szabó" Logistic Regiment were raised.

At the end of the event, Maj. Gergely Hankóczi and Capt. István Rácz, the military chaplains of the two rotations held a joint service.
