US Ambassador Presents Plaque to Command Sergeant Major
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2015. június 27. 15:34US Ambassador to Hungary Colleen Bell recently presented a plaque to Command Sergeant Major István Kriston. The command sergeant major of the Hungarian Defence Forces received the token of appreciation for having been inducted into the International Military Student Hall of Fame at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA) last June.
Colleen Bell pointed out that the Hungarian Defence Forces are among those militaries where the Chief of Defence has been inducted into the International Fellows Hall of Fame of the US Army War College, and the command sergeant major into the International Military Student Hall of Fame at USASMA.
The United States Army Sergeants Major Academy was established in Fort Bliss, Texas on July 1, 1972 and has received international students since 1975. During the last 40 years, 917 students from 76 foreign nations graduated from the command sergeant major course. Hungary has so far been represented by 20 soldiers. CSM István Kriston received a diploma from the Academy in 2008.
The International Military Student Hall of Fame was founded in 2009 with the aim of recognizing those students who have reached the highest level for NCOs in their national armed forces or at NATO force headquarters, and made significant contributions to the development of the NCO corps and education system.
CSM István Kriston has been command sergeant major of the Hungarian Defence Forces since 2011. He is the first Hungarian student at USASMA to have been inducted in to the international hall of fame.
