Brig.-Gen. Tate received a command update about the current status of the NFIU HUN from NFIU Commander Col. László Garas. The general underlined the significance of the NFIU’s future activities, and the importance of cooperation between the NFIU and its higher NATO command.

While meeting the international personnel of the HUN NFIU, Brig.-Gen. Tate stated that although the NFIUs deployed in the NATO member states are different to some extent, they play the same crucial role with regard to the Alliance as a whole, which is to create – by means of thorough and comprehensive coordination – an adequate and smoothly running interface that enables military units arriving in the country to fully integrate into the host nation systems.

General Tate explained that beyond being responsible for supporting the NATO Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), the NFIU must also be ready to receive other military systems that may play a role in tasks related to collective defence in NATO.
