Brigade Commander’s Visit to Kosovo

At the beginning of June Colonel Balázs Szloszjár, the Commander of the HDF 5th ‘Bocskai István’ Infantry Brigade paid a visit to Kosovo, at the servicemen of the 20th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-20 HUNCON).

The vast majority of the Hungarian Contingent is drawn from the infantry battalions of the HDF 5th ‘Bocskai István’ Infantry Brigade stationing in Hódmezővásárhely. At the staff meeting held on the occasion of the visit, Colonel Szloszjár thanked for the work of the contingent performed so far, and then he spoke about the tasks expected in the forthcoming period and the results of the Zrínyi 2026 National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program relating to the infantry soldiers. The Commander answered the questions of the soldiers.

The Brigade Commander presented Commander’s recognitions for the excellent performance in the KFOR Contingent at the staff meeting. In subordination of the KFOR Multinational Battle Group-East, a platoon of soldiers from the Contingent performs patrol missions for a while. Colonel Szloszjár inspected also the housing circumstances of the servicemen relocated to Camp Nothing Hill.

“My goal was to meet as well in person the personnel serving in the mission and get information about the possibly arising problems, challenges. I acquired only positive experiences about the task-execution of the KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion (KTRBN) made up of Hungarian soldiers, and I met a very disciplined, motivated team" – the Commander said at the end of the visit.
