Excellent Sports Achievement in KFOR

People have been burning in football fever for about a week, as the 2018 football world championship is currently ongoing. In Camp Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny (CMLT), Kosovo, cheerleading had set in much earlier, as they staged a football championship between the nations of the camp. The troops of the 18th Rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR 18 HUNCON) were also represented, and achieved second place.

In addition to task execution – in the leisure time of the soldiers – a football championship was organised in CMLT near Novo Selo. Besides the Hungarian, US, British, Danish, Greek, Polish, Austrian, Swiss and Ukrainian national teams also entered, in the interest to get acquainted with each other and compare their strength during the matches. The soldiers of the Hungarian contingent played very well, and the championship was prevented by just on one single match -, and this was won by the soldiers of the Polish Contingent.

It is worth highlighting that during the whole tournament only the Polish and the Hungarian teams remained unbeaten, but in the match played against each other the Polish players proved to be better. The event had an outstanding cohesive power, as in addition to the teams playing together, the soldiers in their leisure time gathered there every time.
