During the official stay in Cyprus the delegation inspected the 4th Sector Command of the UNFICYP Mission in Famagusta, where Lt.-Col. Péter Lukács, the Commander of the HUNCON summarized the Sector’s task-system, giving full details of the HUNCON’s duties.

In what followed, the delegation – the members of which were the Deputy Chief of the MoD Defence Staff Lt.-Gen. Zoltán Orosz and the Logistics Chief of the HDF Joint Force Command Brig.-Gen. István Baráth –, visited Camp St. Stephen, in Athienou, the Hungarian infantry platoon’s base where the Platoon Leader Capt. Gábor Zsinkó reported on the platoon’s area of responsibility (AOR) and tasks.

At the staff meeting held in the camp Lajos Fodor informed the peacekeepers about the legal rules that are undergoing changes at present and affect the task system of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

In the course of the visit the delegation conducted negotiations with the UNFICYP leaders, where Dr. Balázs Botos, the Ambassador of Hungary in Nicosia also participated.
