EUFOR medal parade celebrates personal contribution

On Tuesday the 25th of August a medal parade took place awarding 39 members of EUFOR with their European Union Common Security and Defence Policy Service Medal Operation Althea. The medal recognizes military personnel who have worked within EUFOR. COS EUFOR Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza presented medals during the ceremony and addressed the recipients.

EUFOR Multinational Battalion Change of Command

On 20 February 2015, in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo, command of the Multinational Battalion of EUFOR was handed over. At the ceremony the Commander EUFOR, Major General Johann Luif, transferred the flag of the Battalion, symbolising the power of command, from Lieutenant Colonel Manfred Scheucher to Lieutenant Colonel Michael Köck.

Major General Dieter Heidecker on 17th of December completed his two year tenure as the Commander of EUFOR. The Operation Commander, General Sir Adrian Bradshaw handed over the command of EUFOR to Major General Johann Luif at the ceremony in Camp Butmir.

Signing of the 2015 Capacity Building and Training Calendar

EUFOR Seminar attended by Minister of Defence and Chief of the Joint Staff

Commander EUFOR, Major General Dieter Heidecker, today chaired a seminar to review EUFOR and Armed Forces BiH actions following the flooding in BiH. Key attendees included Mr Zekerijah Osmić, the Minister of Defence, and Lieutenant General Anto Jeleč, Chief of the Joint Staff of Armed Forces BiH.

COS EUFOR meets new ICITAP director

On 30 October 2013 Chief of Staff EUFOR, Brigadier General József Szpisják, met with Mr. Charles W. Bennett, the newly appointed Director of the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The meeting took place inside EUFOR Headquarters at Camp Butmir, Sarajevo. Mr Bennett enjoyed a 40-year career in United States police force before joining the US Embassy’s Department of Justice, International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) office, first as the Program Manager and now as the Director in BiH.
