Easter Target Practice in Kosovo

Szöveg: Lt. Csaba Búz |  2016. április 4. 9:00

On 28 March the Hungarian peacekeepers serving in Kosovo took part in a live fire exercise.

The Delta Company of the 14th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-14 HUNCON) arranged a range day near Kikic to conduct situational peacekeeping target practice and to test and zero their weapons. At the start of each foreign mission, a zeroing live fire exercise (LFX) is needed so that after firing some test shots, everybody can have their weapons adjusted in accordance with their own marksmanship skills.

Mainly drawn from the HDF 5th “Bocskai István" Infantry Brigade, the Hungarian company is assigned to the Multinational Battle Group East Forward Command Post (MNBG-E FCP). As a continuation of combined training programs, US, Polish and German soldiers were also present on the range day. Commanders of the counterpart companies chose two soldiers from each unit who had opportunity to test the weapons in service with the Hungarian Delta Company.

FCP commander Lt.-Col. Thomas Ehrhart also attended the training and was satisfied with the organization and conduct of the live fire exercise. Of course, the commander of the multinational battalion also took the opportunity to test the weapons.

After the LFX, the Hungarian soldiers in Camp Novo Selo did not forget about Easter traditions and the servicewomen of the company…
