Szöveg: Tibor Tamás | 2012. július 25. 11:49I am on a tour, visiting our training camps to see how our Olympians are preparing for the Games, and to tell our eleven athletes nominated by the Hungarian Defence Forces that the entire leadership and personnel of the HDF are standing by them”, Dr. István Simicskó, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, the social president of the Budapest Honvéd Sports Club said in the central training camp in Tata on Thursday, July 19.
While in Tata, István Simicskó spoke with Adrienn Tóth, multiple world and European champion pentathlete and Ádám Marosi, threefold world champion pentathlete. Answering our questions, he said that the Honvéd SC has nominated eleven athletes for the London Olympics, adding that in his opinion, by their own standards our Olympians feel the weight of participation and the significance of representing the nation. Accordingly, they are training hard at full stretch, under the guidance of excellent coaches. “We can tell that they have the will power and determination, the intention to win", István Simicskó pointed out. “They should feel that we are striving to transfer to them the strength and will of ten million Hungarians through the government and the Ministry of Defence".
Answering our question about the hopes and successes, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence said that the entire leadership and personnel of the Hungarian Defence Forces are standing by the Honvéd SC athletes, and they have placed great trust in the good results of the Hungarian Olympic team. “Personally, I would be satisfied with three to six gold medals besides the silver and bronze ones", István Simicskó said, adding that he trusts very much in the kayakist girls, hoping that they will win more than one gold medals. In addition, he expects much from the pentathletes, the water polo team and the swimmers.
