Medal Parade in Camp Butmir

Tamás Bognár | 2012. január 13. 16:18The mission of the ninth rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR-9 HUNCON) is nearing completion, as signaled by the traditional medal parade which was held in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo on January 7. At the ceremony, the 143 Hungarian peacekeepers to receive decorations lined up in front of the EUFOR commander and several invited guests from the HQ.

EUFOR commander Maj.-Gen. Robert Brieger and Brig.-Gen. Zoltán Gulyás, the deputy commander and acting chief of staff of EUFOR delivered speeches at the ceremony. Both leaders praised the peacekeepers’ high professional standards and their cooperative skills. They also noted that the troops of the contingent have enhanced the good reputation of the Hungarian Defence Forces in an international environment.
