Medal Parade in Camp Butmir

The mission of the ninth rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR-9 HUNCON) is nearing completion, as signaled by the traditional medal parade which was held in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo on January 7. At the ceremony, the 143 Hungarian peacekeepers to receive decorations lined up in front of the EUFOR commander and several invited guests from the HQ.

Battalion Exercise and Santa Claus Cup

The EUFOR Multinational Battalion (MNBN) carried out another battalion-level exercise in the settlement of Rajlovač, Bosnia-Herzegovina on the basis of the training scheme at the end of November. It is not a secret that the goal of the exercise was to enhance the cohesion in the Austrian, Turkish and Hungarian companies, and to increase their skills acquired until now.

Exercise and Visit at Camp Butmir, Sarajevo

In mid-November the Austrian company serving with the EUFOR Multinational Battalion (MNBN) deployed in Bosnia-Herzegovina completed the transfer of authority (TOA) process. In what followed, they executed a Full Operational Capability (FOC) Evaluation Exercise which involved the subunits of the Hungarian maneuver company as role-players.

Maneuver Company on Exercise

Battalion-Level Exercise Near the Adriatic Sea

Following the Full Operational Capability (FOC) exercise, the ninth rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent (EUFOR HUNCON-9) had another training session starting from September 1: its infantry company participated in a two-day battalion-level field training exercise. The Headquarters of the Multinational Battalion (MNBN HQ) chose the area of the town of Capljina as a venue for the exercise in Neretva Canton, Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH). This town is merely 20 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea.

Bocskai Brigade Troops in Sarajevo Again

The tour of duty of the eighth rotation of the HDF EUFOR contingent in EUFOR ALTHEA (EUFOR-8 HUNCON) in Bosnia-Herzegovina is nearing completion. On Tuesday, July 26 the commanders of the eighth and ninth rotations – Maj. Győző Preininger and Lt.-Col. Szabolcs Kiss – signed the transfer of authority (TOA) documents, which concluded the official handover and takeover of position between the two contingent commanders.
