Military Attachés Visiting Another Military Unit

MoD Department for International Co-operation organised a visit to a military unit for the defence, military and air attachés accredited to Hungary. The military diplomats were hosted by the HDF Civil-Military Co-operation and Psychological Operations Centre (HDF CMCPOC) on Wednesday, 27th February in the Szentendre-based Görgey Artúr Barracks.

The members of the delegation were received by Colonel Csaba Szilágyi, the Commander of the Centre on their new base, in the Szentendre Barracks. In his lecture, he presented the history of the Centre, then he spoke about the structure, function and task-system of the organisation. In his presentation, Lieutenant Colonel István Guba, the Deputy Commander of the Centre gave details of the preparation process of the specialists, the characteristic features of the standby duty, the exercises of the coming period, and the international engagements of the unit.

Captain Gergely Nyilas gave information on the international exercise Soft Caps 2018 organised by the Centre, in which the main point was creating an environment that increasingly showed similarities to that of the execution area of the future tasks, and besides, establishing efficient co-operation with the persons and organisations included in the contact network and the foreign professional partners. Military employee, Ms. Georgina Kovács closed the session, who spoke about the peace-time and domestic use of psychological operations (PSYOPS).

Following the presentations, the military diplomats inspected the technical equipment in service with the Centre. At the end of the program, the Romanian Attaché, Colonel Toma Stefan Savu thanked for the all-day program to Colonel Csaba Szilágyi.
