2017 Season Opening in Military Parachuting Competitions
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2017. június 19. 13:12The national parachute team of the Hungarian Defence Forces has started the 2017 competition season by participating in the first round of the Parachute World Cup series in Rijeka, Croatia between 7-11 June.
All the top-ranking teams of the world cup – a total of 30 ones from 15 nations – participated in the accuracy landing competition, in which the Hungarian national team was placed third. The members of the Hungarian team are Capt. Tamás Bánszki, Sgt. Szabolcs Gál, WO Gábor Hirschler, WO Tamás Varga, Volunteer Operational Reservist WO István Asztalos, PFC Ferenc Horváth and SFC Péter Gőgös.
In spite of the strong wind – which is almost usual in Rijeka – the competition was a success for the Hungarian team, thanks to the thorough preparation in the spring, during which the team members performed close to 100 training jumps. In the overall classification, WO Gábor Hirschler was placed fifth.
