Brigadier General András Szűcs, Chief of the Reconnaissance Directorate of the Defence Staff will take over the Chief of Staff’s position of the EU ALTHEA Mission from his predecessor in the near future. Among many other soldiers they bade Godspeed to him, as well, with all due solemnities at the HDF Joint Forces Command (HDF JFC) Headquarters during a combined farewell and welcome home ceremony, arranged on Wednesday, January 29.

The Brigadier General highlighted that the soldiers of the HDF Deployable CIS Module (DCM) Company, offered to NATO, have performed service for the first time in Kosovo, and “proved that they attained the employment preparedness. “
In connection with the observers coming home, or travelling to the Continent of Africa, Gábor Böröndi noted that thanks to the roles in Uganda and Mali, the Continent “returned to the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) map indicating our mission roles".
“Africa is the challenge of the future, but we have to prepare for that at the present time. The leaders of the Command devote priority attention to the training and preparation of the soldiers going to the Continent of Africa" – declared the Deputy Commander.

In his reply to the question of the honvedelem.hu Brigadier General András Szűcs said that he has great expectations before the new position, i.a. because this will be the first time he takes part in an EU-mission. “Earlier I have performed service in Iraq and Afghanistan among others. I am sure that the procedures here will be different, this will mean a new challenge for me", stated the Chief of the Reconnaissance.
Sergeant First Class Róbert Jentetics, the Commander of the Satellite Station of the HDF 43rd “Nagysándor József" Signal and Command Support Regiment and the DCM Company has informed us that he worked at the Signal Directorate of the KFOR Headquarters, and the network control was included among his tasks. “I was controlling and trouble-shooting the Internet of Kosovo and the local networks, and enjoyed myself. I have encountered interesting technical novelties", Sergeant First Class said.
