Szöveg: HUN PRT-12 PAO | 2012. augusztus 23. 10:09On August 3 in Afghanistan, the personnel of the HDF National Support Element (HUN NSE) was introduced to improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) currently used by the enemy and the counter-IED (C-IED) TTPs for preventing and defeating these devices. The classroom instruction was followed by a hands-on training session.
The members of the HUN NSE Afghanistan are not tasked to directly conduct operations in Afghanistan, but the Hungarian soldiers serving in the theatre of war are supposed to know the basic standing operating procedures. For this reason, on August 3 the personnel of the NSE received classroom instruction at the C-IED training base of Camp Marmal, Mazar-e Sharif.
The instructors gave the personnel an in-depth introduction to improvised explosive devices, the tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) currently used by the enemy and of course the procedures to be used in preventing and defeating IEDs.
After the classroom instruction, the hands-on training session took place on August 8, when the soldiers had to apply in practice the knowledge they had acquired. While in the many-hectare area of the training base, the personnel of the NSE were practicing under very realistic circumstances the procedures to be used during short halts and in approaching vulnerable points (VPs). Thanks to the instructors’ useful advices, they were able to execute the assigned tasks by increasingly higher standards.
The highlight of the day was a complex movement which involved a vehicle column passing a vulnerable point. The HUN NSE personnel completed the task perfectly.
