During the course, the attendees learned about the procedures and equipment used for detecting CWAs, and also practiced their detection using simulants. The course also covered topics like individual protective equipment for mission oriented protective posture (MOPPS) in the Serbian armed forces and the decontamination procedures. Furthermore, the participants had opportunity to take samples and identify CWAs in the field under realistic conditions with the use of simulants.
The course program also included reconnoitring and marking off a contaminated terrain sector by car. Besides, the organizers introduced the internal workspace, equipment and auxiliary devices of a deployable laboratory vehicle.
The students familiarized themselves with the tools of individual decontamination and vehicle washdown, and at the end of the course they were introduced to the manual procedures of a warning and reporting system used by the Serbian armed forces for the evaluation of CBRN incidents.
