Exercise Load Diffuser 2017 Ends with Outstanding Achievement
Szöveg: Nikolett Török | 2017. június 17. 13:15Running since 22 May with seven participating countries, the multinational exercise Load Diffuser 2017 has come to an end. This year’s largest-scale air force exercise of the Hungarian Defence Forces was hosted by the HDF 59th Dezső Szentgyörgyi Air Base, Kecskemét.
The most important exercise objective was to develop interoperability among the nations. Base Commander Brig.-Gen. Csaba Ugrik said that the efforts toward this objective have produced an outstanding achievement, and went on highlighting the performance of air crews, the ground crews and the aircraft.
During the three weeks of the exercise, the pilots flew several missions of gradually increasing complexity. A simulated wartime scenario provided the participants with opportunities to use combined air operations (COMAO) in practice in a coordinated way.
In addition to the assets and designated personnel of the Hungarian Defence Forces, the exercise also involved 350 foreign troops and 23 aircraft.
The closing ceremony of the exercise was attended by Ohio National Guard Adjutant General Maj.-Gen. Mark E. Bartman, who praised the organization and conduct of the exercise, and emphasized the significance of cooperation among the nations.
The closing ceremony ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation. According to plans, the next similar exercise is to be held in three years.
