8 Days, 5008 Jumps
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2018. augusztus 18. 20:24Szolnok hosted a world championship. The skydiving jumps of the 42nd World Military Parachuting Championship were completed.
Conseil International du Sport Militaire – CISM decided to grant the right to host the 2018 year’s World Military Parachuting Championship to our country. The results of the Hungarian Defence Forces Parachuting Team’s results so far had played a major part in the decision. The team composed of Captain Tamás Bánszki, W.O. Tamás Varga, W.O. Gábor Hirschler, Sergeant Major Szabolcs Gál, PFC Ferenc Horváth and István Asztalos, volunteer operational reservist is considered among the best in the world.
In the recent days 372 competitors of the teams of the 37 countries entering the competition have performed more than 5 thousand jumps on the Szolnok-Szandaszőlős Airport. The closing event and the awards ceremony of the championship is held on 20th August in the Szolnok RepTár Military Aircraft Museum.
