As part of his visit to Székesfehérvár, Ambassador of the United Kingdom accredited to Hungary Iain Lindsay recently visited the HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) in the company of Deputy Minister of Defence Tamás Vargha, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence.

HDF JFC Commander Maj.-Gen. Ferenc Korom received the guests in Alba Regia barracks. Beyond a courtesy call following the general’s appointment in January, the aims of the meeting were to introduce them to the task system of the HDF JFC and to discuss possibilities for expanding the scope of British–Hungarian tactical level cooperation.

Maj.-Gen. Ferenc Korom described the joint activities of the recent past, and delineated the possibilities for the coming years, whereas Tamás Vargha emphasized the importance of harmony between the two nations.

Examples of the cooperation in last year were the air force Exercise Carpathian Hawk 2017, and the land forces Exercise Brave Warrior 2017. According to plans, this year it will be complemented with cooperation at the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Exercise Jackal Cave 2018.
