The event was attended by all leaders of the KFOR HQ as well as by Béla Bozsik, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Hungary in Pristina. In his speech delivered during the ceremony, COMKFOR Maj.-Gen. Salvatore Cuoci emphasized that the KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion (KTRBN) serves as an example of crowd and riot control (CRC) and Fire Phobia training. Moreover, besides having these capabilities, it can be deployed anywhere in Kosovo. Maj.-Gen. Cuoci praised the work done by Lt.-Col. István Varga, the Commander of the Hungarian KTRBN, and, also in Hungarian, wished the soldiers preparing to return home every success and soldiers’ luck for the rest of their tour with the mission.

Before the awarding of NATO medals, in recognition of their outstanding performance, several soldiers of the Hungarian contingent – Lt.-Col. István Varga, Maj. Levente Nagy, 1st Lt. Péter Rózsa, Lt. Gergely Daru and SFC Róbert Süle – received Letters of Commendation.
