Meeting of the EU Defence Ministers in Bucharest
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2019. január 31. 15:26The informal meeting of the EU Defence Ministers was held in Bucharest from 30-31st January, one of the key issues of which was “Women, Peace and Security”. Hungary was represented by István Szabó.
The Defence State Secretary emphasised that he highly appreciates the opportunity that they could engage in a debate on these matters at ministerial level as well, as this issue will also appear among the topics of the UN Defence Ministers’ meeting in March. Furthermore, the State Secretary said that they reviewed the European defence initiatives, discussed means of ensuring coherence between the different defence initiatives and about strategic autonomy.
By building up stronger Hungarian military capabilities we do contribute to a stronger European defence, and to a stronger NATO, as we believe that the European defence must be the strong European pillar of NATO – István Szabó added.
