Minister of Defence Dr. Tibor Benkő received the Ambassador of Israel to Budapest

In the meeting the Minister of Defence said that Israel is a key player of the Middle East region, with whom Hungary maintains excellent friendly relationship, and this should be further enhanced in the future. Dr. Tibor Benkő stressed that our long-standing relations based on historical and social bonds, common values and mutual respect have developed dynamically in the previous period.

A significant impetus was given to the cooperation of the two countries with Prime Minister Mr. Benjamin Netanjahu’ visit of 19th July, 2017, and in return for the historical event Prime Minister Dr. Viktor Orbán’s visit to Israel from 18-20 July, 2018.

Minister of Defence underlined that as a result of the close intergovernmental, political cooperation based on common values, the intention has been reinforced that our relations should be developed also in the areas of innovation and defence industry.
