Talks about the Security of Europe in Luxemburg
Szöveg: Ministry of Defence | 2018. június 25. 16:26A joint session of the EU foreign affairs and defence ministers was held on Monday, June 25, in Luxemburg, in which Minister of Defence Dr. Tibor Benkő also participated. The Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministers attending the meeting agreed that the EU common security and defence policy co-operation should be enhanced, especially in the areas of illegal migration and counter-terrorism.
In the first working session of the ministerial meeting the foreign affairs and defence ministers jointly reviewed the developments and the progress taking place recently in the area of common security and defence policy. In addition to the Permanent Structured Co-operation (PESCO), they discussed the issues of the European Defence Fund, the EU defence capability development activities and the permanent military operational planning and conduct capability.
NATO Secretary General joined the EU foreign affairs and defence ministers during the second working session. In connection with the session, Minister of Defence emphasized that Hungary considers to be a priority to co-ordinate efforts in the areas of stopping illegal migration, capacity building in the Western Balkans, counter-terrorism and military mobility.
