The two Hungarian soldiers serving as C-IED trainers with the ISAF Regional Command North (RC-N) in Afghanistan are carrying on the training of Allied forces. This time, granting a special request, they are training young officers of the US military who recently arrived as newcomers in the area of operations.

The Hungarian-led training session is based on the program of instruction for the RC-N staff. The trainers, however, have been brought up to date on the IED trends and statistics characterizing the area of the Regional Command East (RC-E), and the improvised explosive devices that are frequently encountered in the region, because the Americans are going to do their tour of duty in that area.

For the troops arriving in the area of operations, especially for those with various taskings outside the camp, it is essential to have up-to-date and exact information, as it helps them work out the most effective tactics, techniques and procedures.

The coming weeks will be eventful for the C-IED trainers, since a force protection group in charge of the fighters of the Dutch Air Force has also “signed up" for a personal training session.
