Italian Blade 2015
Szöveg: Lt. Anita Vári | 2015. július 6. 9:00A large-scale Exercise “Italian Blade 2015” has started in the organization of the European Defence Agency (EDA) at Viterbo airfield, Italy, as part of the Helicopter Exercise Programme (HEP).
More than 1,200 military personnel and 40 helicopters from seven countries are participating in the training. Hungary is represented by an M-17 and its crew from the HDF 86th Szolnok Helicopter Base and a number of soldiers from the HDF Joint Force Command.
An international mentor team is supervising and assisting the work of helicopter crews during the exercise. The objective of the training event is to provide multinational crews with opportunity to work together and develop common procedures in a realistic environment with dynamic tactical scenarios.
The Hungarian team has already flown the first two sorties in support of the tactical operation, the first one with a heavy underslung load carrying capability, and the second with airlifting a foreign platoon. On the second sortie, a Hungarian pilot was in command of the force numbering 16 helicopters and 150 personnel.
The airmen of the Szolnok unit will be able to utilize the lessons learned on the exercise during the preparations and organization of another event in the Helicopter Exercise Programme, which is scheduled to take place in Hungary in 2017.
