On January 25 a multinational group of journalists arrived at the HDF Pápa Air Base. The aim of their visit was to learn about the use of the Boeing C-17 Globemaster cargo aircraft operating from the base and the assessment of the practical experience gained during the cooperation of the 12 NATO member and partner countries within the SAC program.

NAMA Deputy Director-General László Szarvas informed the guests about the logistic infrastructure available for the implementation of the program, as well as the tasks of the present and the future. Lt.-Col. Zoltán Vicai, the Chief of Staff of the Air Base gave a short overview of the history of the aerodrome. He also talked about the present, introducing the modern facilities that have been built over recent years.

Keith Boone, the Commander of the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW) outlined the structure, workings and functions of the organizational units, and talked about the benefits of the program to the small countries. Finally Peter Losi, the Base Manager of Boeing introduced the tasks related to the investment and the operation of the aircraft.

After the briefings, the answers to some questions from the press contained further information about the objectives of the program. László Szarvas said that there is still some available space in the flag staff display park of the 12 nations.
